We’ve made our elevation profiles even more useful on web

So you can better plan Tours and review the ones you’ve already been on, we’ve made some huge improvements to our elevation profiles.

  • Improved loading times and responsiveness: We reduced the loading time when planning a Tour by 90% (from around 1 second to around 0.1 seconds), giving you quicker access to the info you need.
  • Tooltips for a clearer understanding of what you’ll encounter en route: Whereas previously you’d only see an icon denoting a potential obstacle along your route, you’ll now see a description of what the obstacle is when you hover over the icon with your mouse.
  • Intelligent color gradings: So you can better identify how steep a particular segment might be, we’ve made the color changes more vivid. On cycling routes, for example, a segment will start to turn red when the incline is 10% or more. For hikes, this color change will begin at around 15%. This applies to both up and downhill segments — an addition that’s especially helpful when traversing challenging mtb trails or descending a mountain on foot.
