Introducing Live Tracking, komoot Premium’s newest feature!

Because sharing is caring, we’ve added a brand-new feature to komoot Premium: Live Tracking. Now, you can share your live location with others while you record a Tour, and give them access to extra safety insights like the route you’re following, your phone’s battery level and your expected finish time. For complete control, you can also set safety contacts: People who will have automatic access to your live location when you start recording a Tour (and Live Tracking is enabled), or you can choose to share a link to your location manually in the app.

If you’re already on Premium, head to the Premium tab to give it a go. Or head to www.komoot.com/premium/live to find out more.

Choose what you want to share — be that a map of your adventure, your favorite photo, the all-important stats of your Tour or all of the above — and komoot will create a beautiful Instagram-ready template that you can share as a post or Story. Select a Tour from your completed Tour list now to try it out.

Share private Tours with your friends with brand-new secret links

In an effort to help you keep your private Tours private, we’ve introduced a subtle yet important change. So that you no longer need to make Tours visible to anyone to share them with people not on komoot, we’ve made it possible to share direct links to private Tours. Just tap to share your Tour and enable ‘Visible to anyone with link’. We’ll then generate a unique URL to your Tour that you can copy and share with your friends. Anyone who clicks on this link can then see your Tour, whether they have a komoot account or not.

You can now export GPX files directly from the iOS app

A feature that’s long been available on Android and web, we’ve made it possible to export your planned Tours as GPX files — all in one tap. Just go to the Tour you want to export and open the menu in the top right-hand corner to get started. Once downloaded, you can import your route into any GPS device or share it with your friends.

Introducing Tour recommendations at your fingertips

You can now search thousands of Tours across the UK in your Discover feed. Komoot’s smart technology finds routes and Highlights near you to create hiking, riding and running route suggestions based on what the community has been up to. You’ll find the Tour search at the top of your Discover feed, then choose your sport and filter it by duration or difficulty level. Adjust the route to your needs and away you go on an adventure inspired by the community.

Embed Highlights on your website or blog

So you can better share your favorite Highlights with your readers, visitors or customers, we’ve made it possible for you to embed Highlights on your own website. Previously only available for Tours or Collections, just click on ‘Share’ on the Highlight you want to embed and select ‘Embed’. You’ll then see the code you need to add to your website’s backend (e.g. WordPress), as well as a bunch of options that will let you define how it should look. Click here for more information.

Introducing Collections and better Tour filtering on Samsung Galaxy Watches

Use a Samsung Galaxy Watch? If so, you’re now able to find and read all your personal and bookmarked Collections on your Samsung Galaxy Watch. Any Tours that those Collections contain can then be instantly navigated — all from your Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Additionally, to make it easier for you to find your favorite planned tours, we’ve also included new filtering options, such as sport, date or proximity.

New range of privacy settings let you control how you share on komoot

To give you more control of your profile and Tour visibility, we’ve added new privacy settings so you can decide how you share your outdoor life, and with whom.

Set your privacy zones

Setting privacy zones around places like your home, work or family member’s house makes these locations private. All start and end points within the zone stay hidden.

Create your privacy zones

Manage your followers

Just like you can choose your friends in real life, komoot enables you to manage your followers by creating a close friends list of the people you know and like best. Share with them and they’ll be the only ones able to see and interact with your Tours and Collections. Plus you can now block followers too.

Manage your account privacy

If you want maximum privacy for your komoot profile, you can make your whole account private. Only approved followers will see your profile, Tours and Collections, and be able to comment on your activities.

Review your account visibility

Control who sees your content

Want to keep your ride, hike or run to yourself, or only share it with your close friends? Now you can adjust the visibility of each Tour you plan or complete, or Collection you create.

Adjust your default settings

Invite people to private Tours

Now you can keep your Tour private from your followers and invite your bestie to it. As part of the privacy overhaul, you can do both!
