Use komoot turn-by-turn navigation on your Samsung Galaxy Watch

Use a Samsung Galaxy Watch to record your Tours? Well, we’ve added a brand-new ‘companion mode’ for your device, which allows you to better use your watch in sync with the komoot mobile app. With this new release, your watch will display komoot’s turn by turn navigation instructions after starting navigation on your phone. This allows you to see where you need to go at a glance while saving both your watch and phone battery. Need more info? Due to the two devices now working in sync, you can quickly take a look at your phone to benefit from the bigger map and the richer detail.  Standalone mode, which allows you to navigate and track Tours without being connected to your phone, is still available on your watch.

To set up companion mode, simply enable Bluetooth on both your smartphone and your Galaxy Watch and connect in the komoot app under Settings > Bluetooth Connect > Samsung Galaxy Watch.

Find Tours that start where you are (Germany, Austria and Switzerland only)

So you can start your adventurers the moment you step outside, we’ve improved our Tour search to allow you to find Tours that start at your current location. Just select your sport in the Tour search panel on the Discover feed and see the hikes, rides and runs that literally start on your doorstep. Looking to start at a different location? You can also search for specific addresses to find Tours that start there, or use the zoom buttons to switch between Tours starting at your selected location or around it. This update is currently only available to users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and will be released in the Netherlands very soon.
